wikipedia, the answer to every question. Everyone knows its dodgy anyway, but its nice to see it in writing

"Thousands of Gratis members have indeed received free iPods and other merchandise, as well as provided pictorial evidence. While the FreeiPods program appears to be legal under United States law, the controversy mainly rests on the morality of the matrix scheme core of the programs. Not only are early registrants more advantageous when obtaining referrals (characteristic of such programs that rest solely on exponential growth), members of Gratis's programs have posted much spam on bulletin boards and chat rooms violating policy.

In addition, over the last few months (as of December 2004), an increasing number of Gratis members have been complaining about their accounts being placed on hold or their orders being delayed for no apparent reasons and without notification from Gratis. Gratis representatives have claimed that they have violated their company's Terms and Conditions.

On February 9, 2005, Gratis briefly lost support from TRUSTe due to multiple privacy policy violations. On February 11, 2005, TRUSTe retracted its complaints. Sometime later, however, Gratis again lost support from TRUSTe, and has since been without TRUSTe's seal.

Complaints against Gratis on file at the Better Business Bureau can be found at [1].

On March 23, 2006, the Attorney General of New York filed suit against Gratis over the sale of up to seven million user information files (identity with e-mail address) despite a promise of confidentiality to users, considered to be the largest deliberate breach of a privacy policy on record in the United States.[3]

In May 2006, for the first time, Gratis Internet missed payments to its publisher affiliates, citing payment problems from a major partner."

"People fear that the Gratis network might be coming to an end. In many cases people are not getting completed orders for Xbox 360, iPods and other items"

Quote from Jakg :nice but, what happened to the tires? theres artefacts all over them

Thats what they're meant to look like, although on the lead car there are a few white dots near the top of the right rear tyre that probably shouldnt be there I've just put on the new test patch and havent noticed it before so it might be because of that, although the patch shouldnt affect it

Well now BRD and nKp are parteners its unlikely we wont see any updates, it can only really get better from here on

And Kunos also said this

"Remember that Netkar was born and evolved as free software developed in the famous "spare time"...I must admit that I very often felt the sensation of incertainty and instability in the last two years of (developing) NKP...therefore I find it difficult to believe that now that the project is more stable, the reaction you expect is that NKP will be abandoned, put aside or neglected...it doesn't make sense.

The deal with BRD was born from the fact that both sides have found persons with a very similar vision of the future of simracing. This is just the first step in a common project but things don't change from a day to the other and NKP and all those who bought it are and will always be our absolute priority."

With the backing from BRD, even if nKp doesnt sell much commercialy it will still have a reason to be developed because BRD are going to be using it.

Thanks. I didnt really use any filter effects apart from motion blur. The rain on the windsheilds are made by creating a black square, adding noise to the square, then enlarging it and cutting round the windsheild, then change the layer filter (cant remeber what i changed it to).
Reflections are made by copying the background, rotating, and messing around with the layer filter. I also cut round the tarmac, added a black layer to it and changed the filter to make it look like wet tarmac. Changed the levels, making it darker and make the whites more grey

The thing is, its ok to be angry when there was silence, but now that he's back what is everyone complaining about? nKp will (hopefuly) improve from here on, the basic game is fine, it works online and hopfuly a new patch will sort out the people that are having trouble online. There are new tracks and cars pretty much finished and ready to go in the game when the devkit is released, so the future of nKp is looking positive

Quote from sil3ntwar :Just got all the cars that came with the game driveable.

Download this http://rapidshare.de/files/26620547/Voitures_Bonux.rar.html and use this readme http://forum.rscnet.org/showpo ... =3121828&postcount=71

And you know have access to a viper, lister storm, 550 and a saleen s7.

So now with pretty much any track and most cars its almost the full game

Wont stop me from buying it though.

Or if you have GTL, apparently you can copy the GTR2 cars into GTL and they work perfectly, havent tried it yet though.

Real life times are about 1:40 ! People at RSC are as low as 1:35, my pb is 1:37.5

@ Bo Kristiansen You have to register (free) to use the faster servers, and there is more than 1 server to download from, one of 'em must work for ya

After playing a bit more, its not that bad. Its easy to keep the car on the track at a reasonable pace, but once you start pushing more then its quite fun and challenging. My best time is a 1:37.7xx

The rain seems quite fun to drive in, but the cars will still understeer too and there is still to much grip when braking. I looked in the plr. file and saw that steering assist and brake assist are still turned on even when you turn it off in game, but changing that in the file didnt seem to make a difference.

Well, its different. There seems to be too much grip, the only time you seem to get oversteer is by using the curbs, its kind of like there is traction control on ... but there isnt.

It seems impossible to lock up when braking, using 100% brake presure and brake balance of 51:49 in the lambo, you can just stamp on the brake pedal with no worries. If you push too hard the worse that will happen is you'll understeer off, the gravel in GTR used to be punishing but now instead of skating over the top of it, it just slows you down, and you can turn easy enough to get back on track.

edit: what season is it meant to be, because its the old '03 track?
